New in Dermatology At our recent attendance at the American Academy of Dermatology meeting in San Antonio, we saw many new products that we have already started to add to LovelySkin.com. Additionally, there were discussions of new procedures that are being developed and will be integrated in our dermatology clinic over the next year. New twists to fillers and new fillers that will be brought out this year were also discussed. Lastly, more information on Reloxin, PurTox and NT 201 was presented at the meeting, based on the work performed in our research center and others. New Product for Vulvar Pain Sydrome One new use for PREVedem, a NeoCutis product, is for improvement of vulvar pain syndrome, also known as dyspareunia. This is a condition that has very few, if any significant treatments and often they consist of radical surgery or laser treatments. Eczema (atopic dermatitis) observational study Skin Specialists is conducting a very important observation study to assess the long-term safety of Protopic ointment 0.03% or 0.1% in the treatment of subjects with eczema (atopic dermatitis). The study will last for 10 years; subjects will be required to come to our office each year for assessment of their atopic dermatitis and for a general physical exam. A skin check will be performed once every two years and there will be two interviews, either by phone or by a mailed questionnaire. In order to qualify, you/your child must have been exposed to Protopic by the age of 16. You/your child must have used the Protopic to treat the eczema (atopic dermatitis) for 6 weeks, either continuously or intermittently.
