the Winter!
We all have learned to reach for sunscreen on the way to the beach or the pool, but it is just as critical to our skin health to use sunscreen in the winter months. While the sun isn't as strong as it is in the summer, there are days on which the reflection of the sun against snow or ice can be just as damaging as summer sun exposure.

Here are a few tips to keep your skin in good condition in the winter months:

Get the Best Results from Laser Treatments by Booking During the Winter!
Late fall and winter are the best times to have laser treatments, according to Dr. Joel Schlessinger. Laser light is unable to penetrate through tan skin, making a summer treatment less effective and more likely to cause burns and other undesirable side effects. "The risk of treatments with laser goes up substantially in the summertime," Dr. Joel Schlessinger said.
Individuals who avoid tanning during the summer can and do have procedures without issues. In general, however, skin is not as exposed to the sun and produces less pigment (melanin) during the winter, making laser treatments like tattoo removal and laser hair removal easier and safer to accomplish. With additional layers of clothing, patients may also be more comfortable after the treatment as they are able to cover up during the healing process.
