I have used this product consistently on a daily basis for at least ten years and continue to receive notable skin care benefits as indicated for this item. Although the glycolic content was reduced from its original 10% strength a few years ago, I have not observed any diminished results due to this formulary change. However, I also use in conjunction with my DDF Glycolic Toning Complex, Retin A and high end (luxury) face, eye, and neck creams. That being said, the best skin care regime is one that includes a "layering" approach and is inclusive of additional complimentary products specific to your current needs.

I used to use this religiously once a day, in the morning, and it was definitely the best toner hands down. My skin looked great, along with using other good products. But DDF changed this some years ago. They cut down the glycolic fro 10 to 7 percent, and I believe added witch hazel. I read some reviews about the harshness of DDF, but it's not the glycolic acid, which is actually a moderate percentage. What is irritating women's skin is the witch hazel. It is a known irritant to skin though long ago, some would use it. No one would use witch hazel on your face. It is an astringent, but if you are suffering from acne, that is the last thing you want on your face. Using a glycolic or lactic acid, of moderate strength or even a gentle tonic cleanser is best. Don't do anything to dry out your skin, which will aggravate acne. I didn't have acne, I just recognized paying more for a lesser and not as good product was not worth it. There are other good products out there.

I felt like this would be a good choice for my 13-year-old daughter who has breakouts and thought she would be able to tolerate it after having used a lower percentage for quite some time.
