Very thick and creamy
The lightest tint was way to dark for my freckled medium/light skin tone but it seems like it would offer great protection from the sun. Better than a white nose of zinc oxide but looks just as silly on me.

Good coverage, smooth application, too light color
I liked the weightless, almost mousse like texture, the creamy spreadability, opaque coverage, high SPF, and portability of this foundation sunscreen. I ordered it in beige after reading some reviews but it turned out to be too light, imparting an ashy white cast. After beginning the return process, I decided it was too much trouble, and given the lack of color guidance from Avene, I could not be sure that the only other color offered would be suitable. I will blend it with a sunscreen compact from another brand that I subsequently bought that offers a more diverse range of colors and color guidance.

Too Dark
I also wanted to love the Avene High Protection tinted compact but find the color way too dark. As an older woman I definitely don't want to wear a "tan" color on my face. The product itself was fine and I liked the high SPF as I suffer from melasma. I was hoping to apply this throughout the day for additional SPF coverage as needed. Until Avene makes this product in more than two colors, I don't recommend it very highly.

Not impressed as makeup
It is nice to have sunscreen in this compact. However, as a makeup product, I am not impressed. It shows dry patches easily, thick with ok coverage, OK staining powder, very limited shade choices. In comparison, there are way better options from Asian companies, like those from Japan, South Korea, China, or even Thailand that you can find online.

Wishing for better tints
Feels great on skin goes on very smooth. The color is a bit too warm for my skin tone. I kept it because it’s a great summer color for me. I don’t tan, I use a bronzer for summer, so this worked well. I also bought the liquid version and that was really orange, I will be using it on my legs and arms.

I had high expectations for this products, especially given all the stars, but the light tone is too dark for me -- Im not especially fair, either. I might be able to use it in the summer. I am also having trouble getting the application to look natural -- it seems there is either too much or too little going on from the sponge, and it does rub off fairly easily. That spf is so good, though, that I will keep working with it (when I have a tan).
