Highly recommended…..but…..
This product was highly recommended by my aesthetician. In fact it was among the top 3 as it was a mineral sunscreen proven over and over to be most effective. I live in the southwest, love being outdoors and in the pool, so I desperately need strong effective protection. This product did provide everything it said it would but I could not get it to blend in no matter what I tried. It was fine for the pool in the backyard or riding my bike but I didn’t feel comfortable going out in public with a ghostly white cast to my skin. I returned the product.

I used the now discontinued oil free SPF 45 sunscreen for many years. I have not found an appropriate replacement. This UV Pure SPF 47 is heavier and takes a few minutes before I can put my makeup on, but is better than the others I tried which left a white coating on my skin. I’m very sad the 45 is gone.

My dermatologist has recommended EltaMD over the years to me. I tried the EltaMD UV Pure Broad-Spectrum SPF 47 but is not one of my favorites. The product came out very watery so I did not feel confident in the staying power or that it provided the best protection for my face.

I LOVE Elta MD, but this is not my favorite. The bottle says face and body and since there are no chemicals, I thought it would be safe to use on my face. However, I had a huge reaction!! I now just use this on my arms and legs. For protection, it’s great. Just make sure you have time to rub it in! It is very white!

A bit too white
As with most non-chemical, non-tinted sunscreens this remains white-looking once applied. It works a bit better when mixing it with another product such as a makeup foundation, or for my husband, some other face lotion, but it's not what I wish it would be. He has stopped using it due to the whiteness. I hold out hope for a non-chemical sunscreen that overcomes the zinc/titanium whiteness handicap, but this does not appear to be it.

I much prefer the Untinted UV Clear formula better. I thought I would try something different but I find myself not reaching for this. I use a combination of the UV clear on my face and then the Sport 50 on the rest of my body.

Zinc Good, but hard to put on
This product works for all the reasons I bought it. I bought it for my husband who has very sensitive skin and break outs. It works wonderful, BUT the Zinc causes it to go on white and even if you use a small amount it takes quite awhile to settle in. My husband wont use it as he hates the white and how long it takes to rub in. I am now using it, but agree that it is a pain to rub in and get rid of the white look.

Good sunscreen, but ghostly white
I have been using UV Clear for years -- and I love it deeply. But upon trying the UV Pure, just to see how it differs, it surprised me with its very very sunblock-like texture. It goes on sooooo white... A bit too much for the face. So, what I would do is use it for the hands and body, and leave the face to UV Clear.
