Using Obagi Nu-Derm Clear Fx #3 to remove dark spots from hands
I had used other products on my hands without complete success, so I was looking for a new product. This one works, but it takes time, since it can only be used at bedtime due to our extensive hand washing routine. I am seeing real results on my second bottle, so don't expect a miracle. It takes some time, but it does work. I have used samples of a discoloration treatment from a different brand underneath it when they are available, and I think that accelerates the process. I will be buying this Obagi product again and again, as with all these aging issues, the dark spots will come back if I discontinue use.

I used Obagi products in the past and as I have been having some issues with my skin I decided to try Obagi again. My Dermatologist suggested that I should try Obagi after my IPL treatments and there was such a great improvement in my skin. That was some time ago and I now find I’m having the same problem so I want to go back to Obagi and try again. I started with the Exoderm, next I went on to the Clear, for which I am writing this review, and now I need to start on the Blend. I am seeing improvement but have a ways to go. I am going back on Obagi gradually to make sure I can achieve the same results.

Works but dark spots fade slowly
My dermatologist recommended this product in the 90's following laser treatments on my face and neck. I've used the product for decades. The original hydroquinone formulation worked faster, but I have found that consistent use of the new formulation works but more slowly. But it has other advantages to recommend it. I like the consistency and feel on my face. I use it morning and evening after cleansing and after applying any serums that I let dry first. Then on goes this lovely moisturizing product. My skin tone is fresh, clear. Then I apply eye cosmetics. I use no liquid foundation or powder. Most people who meet me for the first time think Im much younger.

This product works very well in conjunction with the Obagi Nuderm system. I only rate it 4/5 instead of 5/5, as it's not as effective as the previous iteration with hydroquinone. I realize that chemical is harmful, so can no longer be used. I wish they had a replacement that worked as well.

I have been using hydroquinone products to lighten hyperpigmentation on my face. Now that my course of hydroquinone is done, my dermatologist recommended using a lightening cream with arbutin. This is the first arbutin product I have tried and while the hyperpigmentation isn't getting any worse, I'm not sure I see a huge improvement yet. I have been using this for only about a month, so I'll continue using and see what happens.

This spreads well and wears well on the skin. Its too soon for me to know if the arbutus in this product will help with the discoloration, but I am hopeful. I am using this instead of the prescription version to give my skin a break from hydroquinone. So far so good!
