Good for oily skin
As a person with oily/acne prone skin I am always on the look out for something to mattify my skin without making my skin look dry. I always apply a tiny amount of this product after my routine in the morning, which is after all moisturisers/sunscreens but before makeup (leaving a few minutes for it to sink in before MU application). It dries matte on my skin without making me look dry or without any tight feeling. With or without applying my mineral foundation I find I am less oily throughout the whole day, however, I find it doesn't last the full eight hours on me but it is pretty close and nothing a quick tpuch up doesn't fix. If you want you can also apply this product ontop of makeup. I find this product a great primer and I am about to purchase my second tube, wouldn't be without it. I like the packaging, a simple white (toothpaste) tube. Product is easy to get out even at the end.

Matte look doesn't last long
I feel like the mattifying gel didn't do what I had hoped for. As soon as I applied it, my skin was matte and then throughout the day, my face would become super oily. Even after maybe 20 minutes after application, my skin felt like there was a sticky film on my face, then, I would look in the mirror and it would look glossy as the day light hit my face where I applied the gel. I personally don't use it anymore, and now, I'm still stuck with a full tube of the stuff.

I have used many different liquid foundations for my oily skin. All of them turned my face into an oil slick under an hour. Started using OC8 primer along with bare minerals matte powder foundation. My dermatologist recommended this after I complained about being SUPER oily (I'm a little confused about one thing she said–that it was supposed to have little beads that helped absorb the oil. That's not in this). This primer has worked at keeping the oil at bay the longest of any other I've tried (not the 8 hours they say). My skin is super oily, so I'm okay with it, but I think anybody that has normal or combination skin probably shouldn't use this. Definitely if you have dry skin DON'T USE THIS because I find it is drying, but that's fine because that's what I need! What I found to make my makeup last the longest was using this and then another brand mattifying primer (lauren Geller spackle) on top. I probably will continue to use this because as I said it keeps the oil away longer than anything else, just wish I got the 8 hours the product claims.

I have always had oily skin so have tried many mattifying products over the years. This one works really well for me. I like that it absorbs right in and leaves no white residue as some products do. I have sensitive skin and it doesn't make me itch or break me out. On humid days, (I live in Texas) I have to use blotting papers in about 4-5 hours. Dryer days, I can go a few hours longer. I definitely notice a difference if I don't use. You only need a small amount so the tube lasts a long time.
