I love the creamy consistency of this product but it does seem to sting my face a little, even after following with good moisturizer. I have used Replenix Retinol 10x for years and it never has given me any problems, although the consistency on that product is not as nice.

I have used the .5 before and I liked it. Than I ordered this one and I expected visible results. I did not see any extra improvement in my skin tone. If anything, this almost feels weeker than the .5. I am not sure I will repurchase this one again but I do really like the milder formula.

I have had a hard time adjusting to this strength although I had used .3% retinol of another brand for 8 months. I started out only at once a week and gradually worked up to every other night over two months and I am still seeing an ugly peel. I am now planning to dial it back in frequency again to see if that helps. I do realize peeling is part of the process but I thought my skin skin would have adjusted after 2-3 months. I do like the pump bottle since it keeps the product fresh and it dispenses a perfect amount.

I decided to try the 1.0 strength after using an entire bottle of the 0.5. Unfortunately I had to send it back. Way to strong causing severe peeling. Even when I used it very sparingly. I really ordered the 0.5. Great product but just go slow!! Love how pretty my skin looks when I use the lower dose.

SkinMedica Retinol 1.0 vs Obagi Retinol 1.0
Both appear to work exactly the same except however the SkinMedica product is about $30 more. I expected at this price it would work a lot better than the Obagi...but, no difference. I will stick with my Obagi here on this site which does the exact same thing but is $30 less expensive. I gave this 3 stars because the pump is better on SM than on the Obagi tube...but it's no way worth paying $30 extra for a good delivery system!

Too Strong for Me!
I ordered this product after SkinMedica discontinued the Tri-Retinol Complex (.65 retinol) I had been using for several years. It was too strong for my sensitive skin and I had to exchange it for the SkinMedica .5 Retinol Complex. I have had no problems with this strength and am happy to be back on a good retinol product.
