Have been using this gel for three weeks but my red surgical scar has no improvement. However that doesn’t mean it won’t work for someone else. Just didn’t work for me.

I began using this gel after two-weeks post-op from breast lift surgery. Within a few days of applying, the treated skin became inflamed and irritated so much so that my surgeon told me to cease using it completely. I would not recommend for sensitive skin.

Crusty yellow residue
Unfortunately this one is a disappointment. It leaves a yellow discolored film that turns crusty. Even the slightest, most thinly applied amount will not help this side effect. It also seems to dry out the area and has a somewhat exfoliating effect. Not at all what I expected from a scar cream. Used on a lip lift scar.

Ordered this product to see how it would work in reducing redness of an older scar. Didn’t do a thing. Best to just go to your derm and treat any scars with an actual laser. Topical products just don’t do enough for older scars. Perhaps new ones may be ok with this product but did not work for me.

This SkinMedica Scar Gel actually irritated and made area red and itchy where I used it on my face where I used it. I saw a dermatologist that advised to discontinue its use.
