What is Restylane/Juvederm/Perlane?
They are “fillers” made of hyaluronic fluid, which is already present in your skin. These fillers are introduced underneath the skin's surface using a tiny injection that lasts only seconds. We use different kinds of numbing techniques in the area of the injection to make it more comfortable for you, allowing this to be done over a lunch hour if necessary.
How will I look/feel after a filler treatment?
You may be swollen in the areas of injection and occasionally fillers can cause minor bruising. Makeup can usually cover them up. The best way to minimize the chance of bruising is to avoid Ibuprofin, Aspirin, Aleve and herbal supplements for up to 2 weeks prior to your visit if you can.
The area where the injections are done may be a bit tender, but this shouldn't keep you from your normal daily routine.
Why should I come to Skin Specialists for my filler treatments?
You should come to Dr. Schlessinger because of his experience with the product and his injection technique-not to mention the fact that you will be coming to the dermatologist voted “Best in Cosmetic Surgery” by Omaha magazine for 8 years in a row!
Dr. Schlessinger does all of his own injections and does more Restylane, Botox and fillers than any physician in Omaha. His clinic also is one of few sites in the nation to conduct FDA approval trials for Restylane and Perlane and he has also done research work for Juvederm as well as Botox.
What areas can be treated with fillers?
You can use fillers in a variety of places such as the lips, mouth, circles under the eyes, acne scarring and cheek depressions. It can also be used in the lines that run from the nose to the corners of the lips and down to the chin as well as the 'jowls'.
