Blue Lagoon Skin Science harnesses the bioactive power of Iceland's geothermal water to deliver proven results for healthier-looking skin.

Blue Lagoon Skin Science uses the unique bioactive properties of Iceland's geothermal seawater to deliver healthier skin you can see. The brand's story began in the early 1980s, when locals started bathing in the warm, mineral-rich waters of the Blue Lagoon, with some seeking relief from psoriasis and other skin concerns. In 1987, scientists began studying the lagoon's geothermal seawater, which originates 2,000 meters below the earth's surface and is naturally rich in silica, microalgae and minerals. Today, more than 30 years of research inform Blue Lagoon's science-driven skin care collection.

At the heart of the brand are three unique bioactives: Blue Lagoon Silica, Blue Lagoon Microalgae and Blue Lagoon Seawater. The signature BL+ COMPLEX combines microalgae and silica with a phospholipid delivery system designed to mimic skin cell membranes, helping deliver these bioactives into the deeper layers of the epidermis to support collagen production and target visible signs of aging. Select formulas also feature ingredients such as niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and ceramides to address dryness, dullness and other skin concerns.

With patented bioactives sustainably cultivated and harvested at its clean energy-powered research and development center in Iceland's Reykjanes UNESCO Global Geopark, Blue Lagoon combines science, sustainability and Icelandic skin care innovation in its cruelty-free collection.
