I'm not really sure this is an oil. I have used it on damp hair as well as dry hair. Very light. Does not weigh down my hair at all. When used on dry hair helped with the frizziness. It is a small bottle but it distributes well. Not sure if it is protecting my color/hair. Maybe it's a gimmick? We have very hard water in San Diego so I guess time will tell.
