La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Daily Anti-Aging Primer with Sunscreen contains Cell-Ox Shield, a mix of sunscreen ingredients and antioxidants that protect skin. These ingredients guard against damage caused by both UV rays and free radicals. The lightweight formula goes on smoothly and creates an even texture for flawless makeup application. This product is fragrance-free, paraben-free and non-comedogenic so it is suitable for most skin types. Apply this product alone or underneath your cosmetics to revive a mature complexion.

The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends this product as an effective aid in the prevention of sun-induced damage to the skin, including sunburn and possibly premature aging. I have used this product for nearly a decade, and I love it.

For perspective, I am caucasian with mature skin that is normal to dry and tends to be sensitive. As I'm older, I use multiple products in my daily routine because layering your skin care products is the only way to go. So, I at least use a Moisturizer beneath this if not serum as well at the bare minimum. I’ve read reviews in the past that have complained that the texture is dry or odd, and I can imagine if you used this product on bare, dry skin, you may not have that moisturized feeling you would obtain from, say, a moisturizer... But that's not the purpose of this product. Anthelios 50 is an anti-aging primer with sunscreen. And it meets these goals admirably. It’s an effective chemical sunscreen that has a transparent color (no white cast) and a primer with a thicker texture that allows it to sit invisibly atop the skin to create a blurring effect to mute imperfections. It makes me think of a silicone-like coating that seems like it seals in my moisturizer. I use it before makeup if I’m wearing any but most often alone with a touch of Jane Iredale powder on my shiny spots and lip gloss. I never have to worry about kabuki face or those horizontal white lines of deposited sunscreen I get on my neck from my other sunscreens. Until the FDA gets its $£it together and allows the superior sunscreen ingredients they've been using in Europe for the last decade into the US, this is a great alternative.

I love this brand so jumped at a chance to try this primer. The primer comes out like an almost clear gel and seems like just another base layer before adding a tinted moisturizer or make up. I just tried this sunscreen recently. It looks like petroleum jelly when you squeeze it out of the container but you only need a little bit for your whole face. Better than the Best

I have used primers from many of the high-end cosmetic companies, but nothing compares to Anthelios 50. The primer is so moisturizing and hides all my "flaws," makes my foundation slide on and remain fresh throughout the day. Almost Perfect

I really like this primer/sunscreen. It leaves a nice, blurred, matte finish without drying you out. It's a great makeup primer too. I use it alone on the days I don't wear makeup and it hides a lot of imperfections. The only issue I have and why I didn't give it 5 stars, is that as you use the tube, it gets harder to squeeze out the product. It's pretty thick. I wind up cutting the top off with scissors to use what is left, which can be a lot. It sticks to the sides and bottom of the tube. I then have to store the cut bottle in a plastic bag or it dries out. If I don't do this I would probably throw away half the product.
