What is Jeuveau™ used for?

Jeuveau™ is similar to traditional neurotoxins such as Botox®, Xeomin and Dysport®, but a consultation with board-certified dermatologist Dr. Joel Schlessinger will determine which treatment is best suited for you. Jeuveau™ is the #Newtox and Dr. Schlessinger feels it is the closest neurotoxin to Botox® that exists on the market right now.

Jueveau™ is FDA-approved for use to smooth and relax moderate to severe glabellar lines, commonly known as ‘frown lines’ or ‘eleven lines’ that appear between the eyebrows. While traditional neurotoxins such as Botox® and Dysport® can also be used to treat wrinkles around the mouth as well as for other, non-aesthetic medical conditions, Jeuveau™ dedicated to aesthetic use only and offers a fresh, relaxed look without being ‘overdone’.
How does Jeuveau™ work?

Like similar products such as Botox® and Dysport®, Jeuveau™ specifically uses prabotulinumtoxin-A to temporarily paralyze and relax the muscles that cause the look of wrinkles between the eyebrows. These common glabellar lines form as a result of frowning or even simply focusing your eyes. Dr. Schlessinger places just a few injections of Jeuveau™ into these lines and after a period of time (anywhere from 24 hours to a few days), you will begin to see improvements in these lines and experience overall smoother skin.
What results can I expect?

In the clinical trials conducted by Dr. Schlessinger and his research team, there were significantly positive results and in previous trials, participants favored the results of Jeuveau™ over Botox as a trend. Jeuveau™ took effect in smoothing frown lines very quickly – about 2-3 days for the most part and, in some people, as early as 24 hours!

Who can have this procedure? Who cannot?

Talk with Dr. Schlessinger and his cosmetic team about whether or not Jeuveau™ may be right for you. In clinical trials for Jeuveau™, the most commonly reported side effects included headache and eyelid drooping.

Patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients in Jeuveau™ should refrain from this procedure and should consult with Dr. Schlessinger and his staff of cosmetic coordinators to determine that. Pregnant or breastfeeding patients should refrain from participating in a Jeuveau™ treatment. If necessary, consult with your physician before having any cosmetic treatment.
