Not sure why they say it's matte bc honestly, it's not. There still is a shine... probably 20% less shine than the classic, but definitely a noticeable shine. I took a survey of what people thought of the shine and 50% thought it was glow and the other 50% thought it was oily... just fyi.

This one has just become my new favorite!! First of all, this isn’t matte to me. I have dry skin and this is more of a dewy-natural finish which is exactly what I look for. It goes on so elegantly and matches me perfectly. I’m a Fitzpatrick 4. I love everything about it and spf 50 is an added bonus. I tried to get into Colorescience with their original sunscreen which was too pink for me, bronze was way too dark, and glow didn’t work out either. THIS IS SO PERFECT. I have been using this product for a few weeks now. At first I hesitated purchasing, because it is more expensive than most sunscreens and in a smaller quantity, but it is definitely worth the cost! This product is great for people with oily skin and almost acts like a primer - hides large pores and skin imperfections. Also, if you layer this throughout the day, it provides even more coverage of imperfections. I think this product will last as long as other products in larger quantities, because it is a thicker consistency so you don't have to use as much.

Matte-ish and great protection
If "medium" in their FaceShield Flex formula is a good match for you, this one will be too. I am in-between "fair" and "medium" and found this to be slightly too dark and warm. While it is more matte than the Original formula, it is closer to a natural finish than true matte. It applies and spreads so much more beautifully and offers great sun protection. It doesn't run when I am sweating and lasts all day during long hikes. The small bottle is also super portable and is great for traveling. I don't know if I will buy this again because the color is too dark for me, but it will be my go-to for outdoor activities until it runs out.

I mostly like the matte texture. It absolutely does not leave a greasy SPF-like finish. It may be a little too matte? While it doesn't necessarily bother me, it doesn't go on very smoothly.
