Although it is called a "scrub," it is gentle, yet effective. It does not feel like you are sandpapering your skin. I do not have to do more than very gently massage it into my skin. I use it both combined with a little of my facial cleanser, as well as on its own with a wet face. Rinse well. My skin looks and feels polished, clean, yet not tight or dry. I use my regular facial products afterward.
