I think it works!
Embarrassing... but I have developed some hyper-pigmentation, melasma, sun-stache, whatever you want to call it....I have some darkness above my lip that makes it look like I have a mustache. Incredibly frustrating. I don't know if it is caused by hormones or the sun but I have tried everything to try and lighten it back up without the use of hydroquinone. I even splurged on a plastic surgeon's "KOJI PADS" that are meant to tackle this issue with no results at all. This product appealed to me because it doesn't have any questionable ingredients and it seems to be helping a bit. It is better than before, for sure, but there is still some pigment. Make sure to wear sunscreen when using this product and I find that using a lactic acid product in the evening has also helped. I would recommend giving this product a try, in case it helps with your hyperpigmentation. I know we are all different and it may or may not help, but worth a try.

This is the best pigment correcting product that I've used, but it hasn't completely gotten rid of my melasma. I will plan on repurchasing to hope it keeps helping.

Evens out tone
I keep coming back to this product. I didn’t notice a huge difference in getting rid of dark sunspots but whenever I stop using it, I notice that my skin tone becomes a little more patchy in color (some darker areas on my medium tone Asian skin). So even though it is pricey, I keep going back to using Lytera 2.0 and it evens my skin back out again and keeps it that way. It’s a subtle difference but one that I do notice.

With any topical pigment cream, results are going to take a while and they’re going to be relatively subtle. If you’re looking to really get rid of pigment, you’re going to need to combine a serum like this one with peels, laser, retinol, sunscreen, and glycolic acid, not all at the same time, of course. If you view this product as one line of defense along with those I mentioned, it works and it helps. If you’re using this on its own, you might be frustrated by the results. I used 2 bottles of this and didn’t really see much difference.

As with most beauty products, diligence and consistency is key to making the product effective. This is an expensive product but is glides on nicely and does the job of keeping those pesky brown spots at bay, but you must continue using, or they will come right back!

My dermatologist recommended this for me. Per his suggestion, I do not use it all over my face, just on the sides, where I have a lot of age spots. It’s been very effective in lightening them and some have disappeared completely. I also use it on my chest for all the sun damage I have there, and it’s worked very well there as well. There is one area where I have NOT seen results: the bridge of my nose up near my eyes. I don’t know what’s different about that area, but something is because it’s so effective everywhere else, but if I’m giving an honest review I want to point out that I’m now on my second bottle and that little area is just not responding. I use it in all of these areas every day, once in the morning and once at night. It’s expensive, but a little goes a long way. I do recommend this product.
