Goopier than expected
I'm not a fan of goopy -- for instance, the kind of sticky lip gloss that comes in a tube with a wand. I ordered Dermalogica Renewal Lip Complex because it appeared to come in a twist-up tube, similar to a lipstick. However, the container is deceptive; once the cap is removed, the top of the tube is translucent plastic with holes, through which the somewhat gooey product squeezes as the tube is twisted. I was hoping for a texture more similar to lipstick than to petroleum jelly, which is why I'm not giving five stars. If I'm careful to apply only a small amount, it's not too bad, and it is nice to use first thing in the morning. Someone who likes a lip gloss-type texture would probably be fine with this, and I consider this applicator to be preferable to a wand that has to be dipped into product.

I happened upon this after receiving a sample of another Dermalogica product. I’d been looking for a lip balm for night wear because I always seem to wake up to dry lips, even in the summer, and this one works well. I wake up to softer, hydrated lips.
