One of the reviews said it left a white film on your lips, and indeed it does! Although I wear it just before going to bed, my lips are not as hydrated as I had hope they would have been upon getting up the next day.

This lip balm works really well to keep my lips moist. I like that the zinc oxide is colorless. The thing that I don't care for is that it is not easy to apply. I can't dispense it directly on my lips. I need to place a little on my finger and then spread it onto my lips. I do recommend this product and will be purchasing it again.

Leaves your lips white
The balm never got absorbed onto my lips. It didn't matter if the climate was hotter, colder; neither the time of day I applied it; if I had drank gallons of water or was dehydrated. Since I purchased two balms I even opened the second tube in case the one I was using was damaged. Same thing happened, the vaseline-like substance sat on top of my lips. The worst part is that the balm is not clear, it has a white "shade" (like an old 1990's sunblock) which is unflattering to any type of complexion of any race. The first time my family saw me wearing the balm they immediately asked me if I was feeling sick. That's how bad it is, one looks pale and sick. The only way to hide the white "shadow" is to blend in some lipstick. But I didn't buy a balm to have to mix it with other products; I purchased it for sun protection. Can't recommend it to anyone, men or women, who want to wear it without adding any colored product to it.

Excellent protection from the Sun
Sun is my trigger for fever blisters so I take valtrex daily. I also have to wear something on my lips to shield the (for a second layer of protection) sun and this protect is great for that. It is soothing and has a good amount of SPF. I have tried stick products that contain SPF but none of them provide good protection like this product.
