3. Can I use a physical exfoliating scrub in the same regimen as a retinol?
If you have a physical exfoliating scrub that you love, yes! However, avoid using a retinol and a physical exfoliating scrub together. For example, if you use a retinol at night, use the physical exfoliator in the morning once or twice a week to get rid of dry skin, impurities and flakiness.
However, if your physical exfoliant contains ingredients such as alpha or beta hydroxy acids, discontinue use unless otherwise directed by your physician. This can cause unwanted irritation and lengthen the time your skin takes to heal, which can potentially lead to scarring, dryness and inflammation.
4. What percentage of retinol is in my Replenix Retinol Serum?
The percentage of retinol in your Replenix product is indicated by the “x” in the name. For example, the Retinol Smoothing Serum 2x contains 0.2% retinol, the Retinol Smoothing Serum 3x contains 0.3% retinol and so on.
hoose a retinol based on your dermatologist’s recommendations and the sensitivity level of your skin. If you have never used a retinol, begin with the lowest available percentage and only move on to the next available percentage once you have completely finished the first bottle.
5. What is the difference between Replenix RetinolForte and Replenix Retinol Smoothing Serum?
While both products are very similar, the Replenix RetinolForte utilizes both a quick- and time-released delivery system which allows for the same concentrations of retinol to be absorbed gradually and immediately. The Replenix Retinol Smoothing Serum features only the time-released delivery system, making it a great match for those with sensitive skin.

If my skin is particularly dry from other products (when changing my tretinoin prescription, for example), I will also use it under my moisturizer in the morning too. I like that it is a serum because I tend to get "pilling" if I layer too many lotions. The texture is soothing and easy to spread. I apply moisturizer on immediately after, before the serum has a chance to get tacky. I have repurchased this item many times because it is a reliable hydrator, even in the winter when my skin is drier. The reason that I did not give it 5 stars is because I think you may be able to find an equally good hydrator for less cost. However, I don't want to spend the time or money to test that theory because this one works. …
