I had previously used the SPF-40 formula of this brand but was wanting to try one of the chemical-free formulas for a change. So far I'm finding this product not quite as moisturizing as the other one, but the finish is lovely and I'm hoping that with warmer temps/higher humidity it will be moisturizing enough for my dry skin.

Pretty finish but slightly drying and warm
I was excited when I saw reviews of people saying this was too dark for them. I'm Phototype IV/MAC NC40 in depth, and while this sunscreen goes on a bit too light at first it oxidizes into the right depth. However, I have cool olive skin, and the undertone of this is a bit too peachy. It would work for someone whose true match is between NC35-42 I think. I use a bit of an olive powder on top, and it's passable but it does look like I'm wearing a slightly off foundation. I think if I was less particular about color it wouldn't be such an issue. I'm just very picky as I've gone through a journey with color cosmetics. In terms of formula, this is a cream that blends out beautifully. The color never separates, and the finish is satiny. It might be overly dewy for some but I don't think it's greasy at all. It doesn't look exactly like skin, but more like you're wearing some really nice skincare or foundation. Coverage is sheer but it doesn't disappear. I find this a bit drying on my dehydrated skin but not enough to stop using it. I think if you have very dry or very oily skin you won't like it, but anything in between could make it work. With powder it also doesn't transfer much, which makes me feel confident in its protective abilities due to the staying power. I love that it's a very basic yet elegant formula that's unlikely to cause problems unless you're particularly sensitive to mineral filters. I'm tired of sunscreens adding things like niacinamide or oils - sometimes basic is best.
