My skin is too sensitive

For whatever reason, this made my skin have a reaction like rosacea—lots of redness and small bumps and whiteheads. My skin was irritated and took a couple days to calm down. However, I would like to re-introduce this maybe once or twice a week and see if maybe I need more of a slower introduction rather than using it once a day every day.
