Step 2

Select Flex as your payment method

During checkout, choose "Pay using HSA/FSA with Flex" from the payment options.

Step 3

Verify your eligibility

For items requiring medical documentation, you'll answer a few quick health questions through Flex's telehealth consultation. This generates your Letter of Medical Necessity instantly. Many products skip this step entirely and go straight to payment.

Step 4

Enter your HSA/FSA payment details

Complete your purchase using your HSA or FSA debit card. If you don't have your HSA/FSA connected card available, checkout using an alternative card and receive reimbursement documents via email within two hours.

Since many skin conditions require ongoing treatment and maintenance, using these accounts for dermatologist-approved products helps you prioritize your skin health while maximizing your health care dollars.

Flex is our HSA/FSA payment partner that enables you to purchase qualifying skin care products with pre-tax health care dollars. This partnership allows you to use your HSA/FSA accounts when buying dermatologist-recommended treatments, and Flex sends both your itemized receipt and Letter of Medical Necessity (when applicable) for your records.

No prescription is required. However, certain products need a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) and you will be guided through a chat-based consultation with Flex during check-out to generate this documentation.

Some products require a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from a licensed healthcare provider to provide context to insurance around the usage of a specific product, device or treatment, stating that the expense is necessary to treat or manage a specific medical condition. If the product requires a LMN, Flex partners with Cynergy Wellness to facilitate a chat-based consultation with a licensed medical professional, and generates the documentation in real time for a fee of $12 per letter. Each letter is good for a period of 12 months from date of issue.

No. For a LMN to be compliant, the documentation is required to be as specific as possible in regard to which product is being recommended and which concern/condition that product is intended to treat. However, if you need an additional LMN for a different product, please reach out to support@withflex.com

The most common reason is insufficient account balance. HSA/FSA cards function as debit cards and require adequate funds to process. Contact your HSA/FSA administrator to verify your available balance before trying again.

First, verify the product's eligibility with your specific HSA/FSA provider before purchasing, as guidelines vary. If you believe your claim was incorrectly denied, forward your provider's response to support@withflex.com for assistance. Keep in mind that employer-sponsored FSAs may have stricter eligibility requirements than IRS standards.

Yes. Apply your available HSA/FSA funds toward eligible items, then cover any remaining balance with a credit or debit card.

Flex emails your itemized receipt within two hours of purchase. If you do not see it within that time period, check your spam/junk folder for an email from notifications@withflex.com.

No. Our in-store payment terminal is currently not connected to Flex, and therefore cannot provide an itemized receipt or LMN for your records.

Not currently, but this feature is coming soon. HSA/FSA payments using Flex are not currently available for use on Auto-Replenishment. You can set up your favorites on Auto-Replenishment, but a current credit or debit card is required.
