I just did my first treatment and I’m obsessed with the results. It’s only day two so I’m still a little “sunburnt” from the treatment. I can’t wait to see as each day progresses. I do recommend starting out with the shortest needle depth possible for your whole face (and neck!) opposed to following the “guidelines” given in the manual. It shows different areas need a deeper needle depth due to the thickness of the skin. But I think starting out with the shortest needle depth possible will provide you with great results and will let you know how your skin reacts - it’s just smarter and safer. I think over the course of multiple treatments I will be more acclimated to go deeper. I didn’t use a numbing cream/gel for my first treatment (mostly because I didn’t have any) but I can see the benefit in having a numbing agent like Medspas use. I might use a numbing agent in the future when I plan to go deeper. I plan to do microneedling once a month and build up a tolerance to the depth. I will say that the manual says you can “reuse” the needle head as long as it’s not dull. They recommend soaking it in alcohol for 5-10 minutes. I’m here to say DO NOT REUSE THE NEEDLE HEAD. PLEASE get a new needle head with every treatment. This reduces risk of infection and can generate a better result with a fresh needle set. It’s important to also maintain a clean environment when microneedling, using a gentle cleanser before and after microneedling, and hydrating your skin post treatment! Definitely follow the general dos/don’ts of microneedling. DO: SPF daily & no sun exposure for 1 wk Allow natural peeling of the skin, don’t pick Elevate your head to minimize swelling Gentle cleanser before and after Moisturize/hyaluronic acid DON’T: Apply vitamin C, AHA/BHA, exfoliates for 1 wk Apply makeup for 24hr Apply heat & sweat for 48hr Take ibuprofen (blood thinners) Drink alcohol/smoking Shaving area for 3 days …
