I keep a pretty skeleton-crew of makeup brushes - I use about 5 in my routine. I don't consider myself "minimalistic" with my makeup, however, I don't spend a ton of time and I don't get caught up in the illusions of contouring, etc. Therefore, I cannot speak to it in that regard. Immediately upon first use, this brush became my #1! I love it for under-eye concealer and blemish coverage. This one is buttery-soft and gentle; it doesn't drink or absorb liquids so it feels light and airy over a long period of time. If you want to add a staple brush that's gentle, I strongly recommend adding this to your set! I loved it immediately.
