I received a sample of this shampoo and conditioner with a past Lovely Skin purchase and didn’t think anything of it until I used it recently. The blue shampoo revived my hair color between coloring sessions, softened my locks and toned down the gray beautifully. The shampoo has a wonderful scent, and does exactly what it advertises. The blue color washed right off my hands, shower walls, and tile once I rinsed it. So no permanent staining for me. I absolutely love this shampoo. I believe it works best when it is used with a corresponding conditioner.

This product helps tone down my brassy hair in between colors but need to wear gloves as it will stain the dry areas of your cuticles. Also it warns of potential side effects that cause blindness if used on eyelashes so correct handling is important.

Next, using the palm of my hand I applied this brown lights blue toning shampoo just over the highlighted areas and quickly rinsed my hands…no stains. I left it on for about 10 minutes. My hair was so soft and the highlights were a much prettier, more ash looking tone.

I was skeptical, but this shampoo really helps improve the brassiness that my hair develops a couple of weeks after color. The only downside is that it's a bit messy and does turn my fingers blue. I find that the color comes off my hands after thoroughly washing, so I'm not too bothered by it. A small amount of this shampoo is all that is needed.

Giving this 2 stars rather than 1 because perhaps it would eventually do what it says it will if used more frequently, but I find this to be a pain to use. It is incredibly drying and stained my hands, nails and shower floor. Definitely need to use gloves and perform over a sink that won't absorb stains. Didn't produce any noticeable benefit. Would return, but I am slightly past the 30 day return window. Also purchased the conditioner and have the same unfavorable results.

This really works for brown hair if you have brassy highlights. I gave it 4 stars because of the smell. I am super sensitive to smells and this has a strong smell but it is a really beautiful smell just sensitive. The smell will not prevent me from using it. I bought the conditioner to go with it too.

This product cleans the hair well and smells great. I have naturally brown hair with no color in it, so I cannot attest to how well it works on color/highlighted hair. Just make sure you rinse your hands and shower well, it is very blue!

Works great but fragrance is too strong
I found this works better than another brand I used and is now discontinued. It definitely prevents the brassiness in my dark brown, almost black hair when the color starts to fade, and also works for my husband whose hair is white under the coloring and it would fade brassy before this shampoo. I don't think it made too much of a mess in my shower either or stained my hands. The only downside for me is I cannot stand the smell of the fragrance used in the shampoo. It makes me want to gag and it lingers in my hair too. It is also very masculine-smelling. 4-stars since it does what it is supposed to do, and my husband husband isn't bothered by the scent.

It doesn’t completely take it out, which is why I didn’t give it 5 stars, but there is a noticeable improvement (unlike purple shampoos I’ve used in the past that claim to reduce brassiness). I am using it with the matching conditioner once per week and my hair feels strong and healthy.
