I have been a vitamin C serum devotee for over a decade now and have tried everything under the sun. Im 53 with well maintained but sensitive skin that is dryer in the winter months. Skinceuticals has always made superior products. This works very well for me in the dryer months of winter and layers nicely with my Eltamd mineral sunscreen. A little goes a long way, goes on smoothly and is non drying. It has done a great job so far at keeping minor melasma at bay, tightening pores, smoothing texture, firming and brightening. I will repurchase.

This SkinMedica serum is the skin product I value above all others. With sensitive skin it can be hard to find a serum that makes skin look better without being irritating and causing redness. For me this is it. Have used Vitamin C & E Complex for at least three years now. At first was just happy that it wasn’t irritating and had nice ingredients, but after a few months I saw real improvement as did my dermatologist…without prompting ! I do a crazy thing of using product on one side on my face, sometimes for months to see it there is any difference, because I hate to spend this kind of money on something that doesn’t work. This is the only product I’ve ever used that make such a distinct improvement in skin texture and tone. I Hope SkinMedica makes this great serum forever!

After reading the praises of the Skinmedica brand, I decided to try this Vitamin C after running out of my old brand. I like the texture, as well as the ingredients, but it might be a bit harsh for my sensitive skin. It tingles upon application, and initally broke me out. I kept with it, using it twice a week. I also layered it with my lotion. So far, so good. Haven't noticed any results but still in the first few weeks of using it.

Weird texture, doesn't soak in
This is supposedly a "silky" texture but really it's just kinda slimy and greasy. And no matter how long you wait it never actually soaks into the skin. I use skinmedica retinol and love it. But this was a huge disappointment.

I think this is a great option for beginners who want to level up from just wearing a basic moisturizer in the daytime. It's especially suited for those that don't have a separate vitamin c serum but want to start incorporating it slowly into their daytime skincare regimen. It has a serum consistency which works well with sunscreen, etc. applied on top. It's very light. My only con is the price for the amount of vitamin c included in this. If you want to start building tolerance to Vit. C slowly or if this is the level you want, I recommend this over just basic moisturizer for day.
