Now, go forth and rock these three runway-inspired fall makeup looks!
The look: Eyes that pop thanks to a contrasting, colorful liner on the lower lid, either just near the inner corner or as a full swipe.
How to get it: Use your choice of colorful eyeliner—pencil or liquid, whichever you’re more comfortable with—to line your lower lash line. You can choose to line just the inner third of the lash line or extend the color the entire length of the bottom eyelid. Keep the rest of your look subtle with a nude lip and lightly blushed cheek.
Products to try: jane iredale Eye Pencil in Midnight Blue will give you the blue-lined look of Elie Saab’s runway models, or go green with stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Emerald.
The look: A pointed, intentional highlight in the form of a golden stripe outlining the cupid’s bow of the lip, as seen at Brandon Maxwell’s fall show.
How to get it: After applying foundation but before applying lip color, pour a few drops of liquid highlighting fluid onto the back of your non-dominant hand. With the other hand, dip the tip of a lip liner brush in the highlighter and trace a stripe along your cupid’s bow (the dip in the center of your top lip). Use a beauty blender to blend very lightly. To really channel the models at Maxwell’s fall runway show, finish with a bold matte red lip color.
Products to try: Dermablend Glow Creator Multi-Use Liquid Highlighter Makeup, a pearly, buildable formula that comes in four luminous shades, including Gold, or theBalm Bonnie-Dew Manizer, a lightweight highlighter with an intense opalescent sheen.
The look: A softer, gentler more autumnal take on the traditional black smoky eye, with incorporating warm taupe and brown hues.
How to get it: Use an eyeshadow brush to sweep a taupe shadow across your entire eyelid, extending from the inner corner to the outer brow line. With the same brush, apply a darker brown shade of shadow across the lid and around the lower lash line. Close your eyes and blend lightly with a fluffy makeup brush or beauty blender. Finish with your favorite black-brown eyeliner and mascara, like blinc Mascara in Dark Brown or the jane iredale Eye Pencil in Black Brown.
