To get this liquid out of the bottle correctly, you have to shake it into your hand. I can’t imagine anyone waiting for it to slowly drip out. So remember what Taylor Swift sung and “shake it up.” But once I shake it up…the essence leaves my skin feeling like it does when I’ve applied hyaluronic acid gel to my skin, so I’m guessing that’s the ingredient responsible for how soft this feels on my face. I use it in between AM and PM, right before I do a two-part hydrogel mask in the early evening. I do have a big issue with the odor, however. It smells like Aussie hairspray I used in the late 1980s, it’s just terrible. How has no one complained about this yet? Maybe folks are just returning it and not saying anything, it smells so powerful. I’m using the product frequently to reduce my use of B5 gel and when it’s used up I won’t be repurchasing it because there are people very sensitive to minor odors, and I’m not really one of them. But I am a “super smeller” so even a little odor I smell very strongly…and the odor of this essence is just icky, it’s what I’d deem “British industrial floral.” Using it, I usually first feel like I have sticky hairspray on my skin, so I only use it after washing my face after work—it doesn’t get pride of place in my morning or evening routine. And this lovely feeling essence goes under a mask in the early evening, but never under expensive serums.
