I don’t wear makeup often because I am home most days, but when I do, this melts away everything for easy removal and leaves my skin feeling soft and not stripped of all oils or too greasy. I also follow it up with a facial cleanser (Dermalogica or Clinique mild cleanser). I have sensitive skin and this does not give me acne or irritate my eczema as many products can. I used Clinique’s makeup removal balm before this and liked it, but this product is more soothing to my skin and “melts” a little better for more complete removal. I’m 62 y/o with fair, dry skin that is prone to acne, redness and eczema.

I wasn't sure about this product as I have been using the PreCleanse oil. Thought this would be really thick and leave a heaving film on my skin. Dope, it didn't! It says it's for dry skin so I thought it would help the skin irritation dryness and it does. It's a keeper!

I am a long time fan of Dermalogica and use a variety of their products. I started using the precleanse oil many years ago and became hooked at how clean my face was after washing. My treatment products absorbed much better with a thoroughly cleaned face. Without precleanse, there would always be some level of residue make-up on my hand towel. But as I got older and my skin became more mature. I needed products that were all around more moisturizing from cleansers to moisturizers and everything in between. I shifted to the precleanse balm and I LOVE IT! It does the same great job of cleansing the skin of all make-up (especially that tough mascara), but is a bit more moisturizing. It doesn't leave my skin quiet as dry. I have tried to go without it as sometimes I can't afford this extra "luxury", but I can't. It is now a necessity in my routine and I find the budget for it or jump on the deals when I see them. You will be surprisingly addicted to this product.

I never thought of double cleansing my face until my friend started doing it and her skin looks beautiful! My skin cleanser doesn't remove my make up as much as I'd like it too. If you have ever used, the PreCleanse oil, you are already know how PreCleanse helps prep the skin. I like the balm more for areas that are drier, like the eye area and lips. If you are combination, or oily, I would suggest using this in the drier winter months, not year-round. The included scrub mitt really helps to work the product in and break up what you need to remove. Excellent.

No one can go wrong with this pre-cleanser. It takes off all makeup, including waterproof mascara with hardly any rubbing. It's quick, easy-to-use and something that I use every night followed by a cream cleanser. Sometimes, I use the cream cleanser first and follow up with the pre-cleanse. Never makes my face too oily but is calming and soothing as well. I'm always on the look out for newer and better products, but this one is a keeper.
