Reviews For EltaMD UV Skin Recovery Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Green Tint for Redness Duo

This is a must have
I've always used eltamd spf But had never tried the green tint until I received a sample. I don't think I'll ever go back to using anything else. It really does make a difference in the redness in my face. For some reason I also feel like it's a little bit more moisturizing and leaves a different type of sheen which I enjoy.

Perfect SPF for any skin but essential for hyper-sensitive skins: we know who we are...
I have purchased UV Skin Recovery SPF 50 (green tint) about six times. The only better SPF I've used is a (2014) discontinued SPF 30 mineral based product from another brand. If you used that SPF, you know that it was incredibly effective. Since it was discontinued I've not found a daily-use SPF that truly did not disturb my rosacea and was completely comfortable for 24 hours---until I discovered this product. For my incredibly sensitive, rosacea conditions this Elta MD SPF is truly non-irritating. I use it every day. I can use a mild moisturizer underneath if I need extra hydration. Most days (even in winter) the UV Skin Recovery SPF 50 (green) is enough. The green tint doesn't do much to tone down the pink in my face but, the green tint (which is minimal) completely eliminates any trace of white/ashy/zinc cast. It is invisible. The un-tinted formula does leave a slight cast that I do not like. My skin tone is Fitzpatrick Scale Type 1. However I cannot imagine any Type, 1-6, that could not wear this SPF invisibly. Elta MD Skin Recovery SPF 50 (green) is, for me, perfect. I will continue to purchase it.

Made Rosacea redness worse
I have rosacea redness on my cheeks and had hoped the green tint of this sunscreen would help. Not only did it not help, but it made the redness on my cheeks much worse. I stopped using it after a couple of days and threw it out. I went back to La Roche Posay sunscreen.

Not for sensitive skin
This made my rosacea much worse and broke me out all over. I had to toss after trying it out 3 times. I miss the original UV Elements sunscreen. That was the best! Unfortunately this one was really bad for my skin. Also the green tint for me did not cover any redness whatsoever.

Found this to be a very unsatisfactory product
I have used EltaMD products for years with great success. LOVE THEM. So, I suggested my daughter try this product—she can have some redness and splotchy areas on her face—has a tendency to lean towards mild rosacea but nothing severe/dramatic and not all the time. I suggested this Elta product for her to try. Oh my, from the very first day she started to develop bumps/splotchy-ness/severe redness and rash/itchiness/and some swelling. Had her stop the product and after 3-4 days it went away. She also made an emergency appt with her Derm. Just goes to show not everyone can use a certain product. Is what it is, but Lordie, she suffered for a great many days. It also, she said, went on cakey/thick/heavy and didn’t feel very comfortable.

Recommended for sensitive skin
I have very sensitive skin and really like this sunscreen. It has a lightweight texture and absorbs almost instantly. It feels very calming and soothing upon application. It could be a little more hydrating but I appreciate that it isn't greasy and hasn't caused any breakouts.

Perfect for rosacea
It really calms down the redness and blends into my skin without leaving a white cast. Doesn’t irritate either. Love.

Minimal Redness Correction
I bought this to neutralize redness and irritation since starting tretinoin. As others have mentioned, the redness correction is minimal. While the formula is nice (not greasy nor too light) and sinks into skin well, I was underwhelmed with the results given the $52 price. Save your money and buy a green primer from the drugstore.

Elat MD UV Recovery cream green tint
Excellent product. Moisturizing and does cut down on redness. It’s expensive but worth it. A little goes a long way.

So glad I bought this
Elta Md sunscreens are excellent. I had wanted to try this one and was glad to purchase at a discount. The products are a bit expensive for me. I am not very red but have some broken capillaries and discoloration. This worked great to even out my skin tone. Highly recommended.

It really does reduce redness!
This really does reduce redness! I don't have rosacea but do periodically get laser treatment and (more recently) micro-needling, all of which make me VERY red in the face for several days. This reduces the redness and actually helps the skin recover from the treatment. This a another great sunscreen from EltaMD!

Doesn't do a thing to cover flushing from rosacea
I've been using ELTA MD's EltaMD UV Skin Recovery Broad Spectrum SPF 50 untinted and loving it. Decided to also try the green for the days when my rosacea flushing flares ares are more noticeable. While both are very light - but do a great job - the green seems watery by comparison to their untinted variety. LovelySkin customer service confirmed this when I called to inquire. Either way, the fact that the green tone it does nothing to neutralize the red rules it out for me. FYI, I'm a 75 y/o Caucasian.

Soothing
I find this very soothing to my sensitive skin. I also love that it leaves no residue and makes my skin feel soft, despite being SPF 50! Sun protection is very important to me. The green tint may somewhat lessen my redness, but more important for me is that it cools the heat associated with my rosacea and leaves my skin soft and not irritated. Others though may be a little disappointed in its ability to decrease redness, hence, 4 stars. I will very likely purchase again.

My new go-to facial sunscreen
I really like this new EltaMD sunscreen formulation. I had been using the EltaMD Clear facial sunscreen for years, but was pleased to see news of this product with a higher SPF and a green tint to help lessen redness from tiny broken capillaries, etc. I decided to try it. It is a light lotion, green in tint. It goes on smoothly, and absorbs quickly. The green color totally disappears on the skin, and it does diminish the appearance of redness on my cheeks. It's a very nice product. I have reordered it.

Great product!
I received this as a sample with another order and loved it so much that I ordered it. It does tone down redness, is non-greasy, seems long lasting, and feels great on skin.

Tried it and not a fan
I have pink undertones on my face and decided to try this product. Unfortunately, it doesn't deliver the results it claims. The green tint doesn't neutralize the pink and the product forms clumps after you apply it on your face making it a challenge to apply makeup. I'm going to continue using a sunscreen from a different brand. Not only does it do a better job at minimizing the pink on my face, but it goes on smooth and doesn't form clumps.

Great Sunscreen
This sunscreen is amazing. It calms my rosacea down, looks great under makeup and keeps me from getting too much sun. I have used almost every Elta MD sunscreen and this one is the BEST!!

Win on spf and redness reduction
I did not purchase this myself, but for a friend who is dealing with a lot of rosacea, and redness related to some medication that she is on. It really seems to have tone down her redness, it’s not irritated her skin. She told me that her dermatologist gave me the thumbs up for the recommendation.

Wonderful sunscreen !
I have rosacea and a complexion that gets upset at most creams and cosmetics that it comes in contact with. I recently discovered and love the uv recovery sunscreen with the green tint! The sunscreen is gentle, light, has almost no odor and the green, rather than making me look like a frog, masks the red in my face. My favorite sunscreen, by a lot!

EltaMD UV Skin Recovery SPF50 - Green Tint for Redness
What a great product! I wasn't sure if this would work on my Rosacea, but I have to say it is very calming and tones down the redness. It's great that it's a moisturizer as well as a sunscreen, so you get two for the price of one!
