Dermalogica may have changed formulas on some products, as I used their acne products in the past without any issues. After applying this serum every other night for less than a week, I broke out in little red irritation bumps similar to a contact rash. I am older and have sensitive skin so perhaps this would work fine for someone younger.

I was hesitant to try this since it’s an oil based product. Previously used retin A, but always experienced peeling which made applying makeup a mess. This retinol oil absorbs quickly and doesn’t cause dryness/peeling on my oily skin. Love this nighttime clearing retinol.

I have extremely fair, dry, and sensitive skin, so sunscreen is a must but also incredibly difficult to get right. I’ve tried countless mineral sunscreens and they’re either tinted and too orange or untinted and too chalky white. They’re either too matte and drying or too shiny and greasy. Not this time. Dermalogica nailed it with Porescreen spf 40. They key is to shake it vigorously for at least 45-60 seconds before application. It must be thoroughly mixed to get the desired outcome. The product appears milky grey and even the tiniest bit gritty at first. Don’t let this detract you. After shaking, I apply it to my forehead and rub it in well. I shake it some more as I continue to apply the product to my face in quarters (forehead, left cheek, right cheek, chin and neck). At this point my face is wet and almost greasy looking. Don’t let this detract you. If I’m in a hurry, I like to take my blow dryer on cool setting and speed along the drying process. Otherwise, I let it air dry, which takes a good 10-15 min. Once it has fully set, my skin is glowing and dry to the touch. There’s no hint of tacky or stickiness, and I can touch my face without any residue left behind on my fingers. Since my skin is naturally very dry I do apply my full skincare routine, including Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream prior to Porescreen. My skin stays hydrated all day and I don’t get any irritation from the sunscreen. Highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a tinted mineral sunscreen!
