I used nothing but control paste from Aveda forever, and a couple of years ago, I bought this shine paste, and I'm very happy with it. I'm a curly platinum blonde, and without a lot of shine, my hair just looks like a white hydrangea sitting on top of my head. This paste gives it body and control without crunchiness, and the added shine gives it depth of color.

I was very excited to try an alcohol free hairspray. The first bottle I got malfunctioned -- the click click spray nozzle did not depress and dispense. Lovelyskin graciously sent me another bottle (thank you!). I used it several times to assess performance. The formulation did not hold my style in place, and it dissipated volume! My hairstyle melted down and hair became super crunchy. The spray nozzle also dispenses too much product, it should be a finer mist. To get the best spray, I'd have to really shake-it-like-a-salt-shaker and spray it a few times into a paper towel to warm it up so it would dispense as finely as possible. So after all of this, I disposed of two bottles of this product and it just feels like a horrible waste. I hope these bottles are actually recycled, I hate to think about all the pollution I am contributing to.
