This was not cheap, but I wanted to have something after my next laser specifically made for aftercare because my skin was so irritated after my first. when I first used it, it didn't seem like it was sinking in and it just made me feel more uncomfortable but after a couple hours, it did sink in and my skin calmed down. Would I buy it again probably not I'd look for another product, but I'm happy enough with it that I will use it after my next laser and possible face treatments after that

It says on the packaging this melts on contact, but that is not true in my experience. This formula is very waxy and it does not spread easily, even after I warm it up in my palm first. Easy spreadability is important on the face to minimize pulling on delicate facial skin. I don't think I could use this at all in the winter months when it'll be even more difficult to warmup the product. I'm going to use the rest of the product on my body, but I really wanted a pure and gentle formula for the face to use after procedures. It's gentle and moisturizing, but since it's so difficult to apply it's not just usable or effective. I will not repurchase, there are so many other alternative similar products that are significantly less expensive.

Yes, it is basically just petroleum jelly that has been thickened with beeswax to make it less messy, but it will form an occlusive seal to your skin to prevent moisture loss and to soothe your skin after a procedure. I used it recently after a CO2 “cool peel” and I was very pleased with it. This jar will last a long time.
