So far, so good!
I have suffered with acne since I was a teenager, and, along with adult acne, I was "lucky" enough to develop melasma as well. I've had laser treatment to help with my melasma, but was told I would have to wear sunscreen daily ... Really?! The only thing I knew sunscreen would do is cause more and more acne breakouts! A friend introduced to me EltaMD products, told me she loved them, and that I should try them out. Well, I've used this product for about 2 full weeks now and have not had any trouble with acne breakouts! My skin actually feels great, doesn't look oily, and I also feel good knowing I'm protecting my skin from any more sun damage all with one product!! Thank you EltaMD for thinking of those of us with very sensitive skin!!

I've only been using this for a week so far, so I can't speak to its long-term effect on acne compared with other sunscreens, but I like using the product. One pump seems to be the perfect amount to cover my face. The tint matches my skin just fine no major coverage, but looks smoother than bare skin. I wish it dried a little more matte, but it's not bad. I like that it contains lactic acid and niacinamide. It spreads easily, and has no discernable odor. I sometimes add bronzer, blush, luminizer, or finishing powder over it, and it doesn't affect any of those, as far as I can tell. I haven't put any other cream or liquid foundations over it. I would try other EltaMD products, seems like a good brand.

Great if you have acne or rosacea
I've used this product for years with no problems. However, after using a new retinol product, that made my skin peel a little, I had to temporarily stop using it because it made my skin sting and turn red. Not sure why, maybe the 5% Niacinamide. I went back to using it after a few weeks, with no problems.

Another Good SPF from Elta MD
This product is recommended in my dermatologist office. I have used the untinted for many years with great success. At first I did not like the tinted. It seemed dark and my complexion is light. I decided to give the tinted a second try. So far it has worked out well. The color very subtly evens out red but does not cover acne or dark circles. It does give a healthy wash of color. I think I will continue to use it, same great formula as the untinted. It would be great if they offer a third shade option at some point.

I like it, but its not perfect
The texture feels light. While it does not seem to add moisture, it doesnt dry my skin, either. It does not sting my eyes. I like that it has a high percentage of zinc oxide, though if I look carefully, a faint tinge of white is evident on my medium skin. My main complaint is that I cannot layer it over SkinMedica C+E serum. Ive experimented with varying amounts and dry-times of the serum, but I think the ingredients (probably the silicones) just dont meld well and instead create particles on my face that are not easily brushed away. On clean, bare skin, I do like this product.

Beautiful finish with no irritation or breakouts
Ive been using the EltaMD UV Clear sunscreen for the past few years and will continue to repurchase. I have very sensitive skin with rosacea and this sunscreen has never caused irritation or breakouts. I was initially drawn to it because it contains a good amount of niacinamide, an ingredient I was interested in for its ability to even skin tone and lighten pigmentation. This is a sunscreen I use on days where I have incidental exposure to sun, not for a day at the beach. I use sunscreens with a higher level of protection for days in the sun. A major plus for the UV Clear, aside from amazingly never causing a single breakout or spot, is the finish it leaves on my skin. I know the product is described as matte, but I get a more natural look that I would consider almost luminous. Dont be scared! Its no highlighter and there are no glittery particles. I just know I look more "alive" with the soft finish it provides. In the summer I can use this with nothing underneath but in cooler months it is crucial that I wear a moisturizer. That said, I do not believe UV Clear is a drying formula, it is just not especially moisturizing. I would prefer to moisturize underneath when needed anyway. If you have sensitive skin and are not irritated by niacinamide, this product is definitely worth checking out.

good job but not a substitute for base
I have sensitive skin and find this product to be reasonable gentle and very easy to apply. While it is tinted does not cover imperfections in the skin or leave a bit of color. However, it does not leave a white film like other sun screens. Nice product a little more gentle on sensitive skin than other brands.

My dermatologist recommended this product because I have highly sensitive skin. Ive been using it for two years and havent had any former skin issues. This sunscreen does make your face look shiny if you dont cover it with foundation or face powder.

Love & Hate Relationship
My quest for the perfect sunscreen began early this year when i started using Vit C/Retinol products. I started off with mineral sunscreens but they gave me the geisha look. Even the tinted ones were not deep enough and still showed up on my skin. Then, i found this one, mineral + chemical combo. I have an oily, acne-prone, acne scars, brown skin. I have used this ss for about 6 months now. Positives include it is light, works well under make-up & does not make me break-out. Negatives include it pills if you rub it too hard (you have to lightly apply it and apply fast too). A big negative for me is that it still gives a white sheen on my skin. Even though the ss says Clear, it is not really clear on brown skin if you apply liberally as you should. So, I always have to apply make-up when wearing it for work. I have resigned myself to the fact that as long as the zinc is present, it will show on my skin. On the weekends, i use another sunscreen. If the white sheen factor was not present, this would end my search for my HG sunscreen!

Great Sunscreen Line
EltaMD is a great sunscreen line, their sunscreens are light weight. My bottle lasted pretty long and overall was really satisfied with the sunscreen. As someone who is acne prone and oily, I am usually so afraid to try new sunscreens but when I read that this sunscreen was specifically formulated for those with my skin type I decided to give it a try. I must say I was not disappointed.

Great light sunscreen for fall and winter
Easy to apply, feels great on the skin and does not make you appear white. Not water resistant so not good for any time you may be sweating, also Zinc Oxide is not the best full UVA blocker so would use something stronger for all day in the sun but perfect for the to and from work exposure.

I only use EltaMD products for my face and body. They work great! The EltaMD UV Clear is my favorite for my face as it doesnt make my face breakout. The only reason I gave this a 4 star is because the pump products have had a few issues being able to pump. Im hoping the manufacturer will quickly fix the problem. I will still buy EltaMD products!

Good sunscreen, keeps me from burning
This sunscreen kept my face from getting burnt and wasnt too thick or mask-like. It did get a little "ropey" or sticky if I worked it into my face too much (I think I might just have a bad habit of doing that with sunscreen). But it did the job, didnt have a smell, and didnt make me break out. A little pricey for the bottle, but cheaper than acne--and I have sensitive skin, so anything that doesnt irritate is a win.

I used this sunscreen during a current HOT spell and was very pleased that it did not cause my face to shine and look moist. I love the clear and slightly matt finish it provides. The texture is perfect for my skin. This sunscreen goes on smoothly. My only negative is that Im not fond of the pump dispensing system. I like to get all of the product out of the bottle. The jury is out since Im not through the first bottle yet. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.
