Nice Coverage
I like the medium coverage of this loose powder. I use it over a tinted moisturizer that just doesn’t have quite enough coverage for me but it still looks natural. The finish remains dewy and it doesn’t look cakey at all. Another way I sometimes use this is to mix a small amount with the tinted moisturizer and apply with a brush. I have fair, mature (40’s) skin.

I love the lose powder foundation by Jane Iredale! It’s exactly the coverage and semi matte finish that I wanted. It has staying power throughout the day; I very rarely have to touch -up. The finish is smooth and not powdery looking. It is especially great when used with the mineral spray. It took a little bit of research to figure out the color that I needed, but found the color that is perfect for me. Beware: the colors in the lose powder foundation tend to be darker than in the pressed foundation. My complexion is light to medium, I used “Satin” in the pressed foundation which was a tad light for me. I chose “Satin” in the lose powder which was a half shade darker, and it is perfect. Radiant in the pressed foundation is several shades lighter than the lose foundation. So, be careful when choosing your shade.

I love Jane Iredale and I have been using the pressed powder for years in Suntan. I thought I would give the loose powder a try but unfortunately the color is not the same as the pressed powder. It is darker and more orange so unfortunately it is taking up space in my makeup drawer.

I've been using the loose powder for about a decade. It has wonderful coverage and less cakey than other brands. Just make sure your skin is well hydrated. Like most powders, it exacerbates the look of dry skin and large pores, so I avoid areas of my face with larger pores (by the nose).

Pure Pressed Base is better!
I didn't care for this product but that's most likely because the color I ordered (based off of my color in the Pure Pressed Base) is way too dark. I wear Radiant in the Pure Pressed Base and it's perfect for me so I ordered Radiant in the loose. It's so dark that I just wear it as a bronzer.

Ok so I'm not sure my first at bat was an exact color match. I followed the questionnaire and scored color Natural. It's a little light on my lighter toned olive skin, I'm wondering if maybe suntan would have been better. Putting that aside, I absolutely love this powder! I am very cosmetic sensitive.
