Color, Consistency, Control
Jane Iredale eyepencils are my go - to item every day. The brown and brown-black are dark and soft, and easily smudged for a softer look. The pencil sharpens up very well; the point does not snap off in the sharpener. I have annoyingly sensitive eyes, and the Iredale pencils have never caused even the slightest problem. I do wish the application would last longer. Highly recommended accompaniment: the Jane Iredale sharpener.

Good Color
At 65 make-up can look harsh and can cause a person to look even older than one actually is. I love this pencil. Black/brown is a very good color for older skin because it offers a softer look than black does.

Great for Blending
These pencils are great for blending in the creases to outline the lid or as an eyeliner on the upper lid - tends to smudge on the lower lid (but I have very oily skin).
