ISO the best firming eye cream or ingredients to help with dark circles, puffiness and aging? Drs. Schlessinger discuss some of their favorites.
Concerns like wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles around the eyes are some of the most common qualms people have with their eye area. But you don’t have to live with them! Board-certified dermatologists Drs. Joel and Daniel Schlessinger break down what causes dark circles, puffiness and wrinkling, including ingredients that work to improve each concern.
Dark circles can be caused by genetics, stress, lifestyle factors or even lack of sleep. Since the skin around the eyes is thinner compared to other areas of the face, it can cause blood vessels under the skin to be more visible, causing skin to appear discolored under the eyes. Dark circles may also be exacerbated by sun exposure. If dark circles are a concern, Drs. Schlessinger recommend looking for brightening ingredients or concealers that promote a more even skin tone, such as vitamin C, horse chestnut extract or niacinamide.
Puffy under-eyes also have many causes, ranging anywhere from skin laxity caused by natural aging, fluid accumulation or allergies. At-home solutions like caffeine can help smooth aging skin by temporarily improving their appearance. You can also try antihistamines to help alleviate puffiness caused by allergies, a cold compress or an ice roller to reduce inflammation temporarily.

I found this video to be very informative. Having Glaucoma requires use of several prescription drops some of which cause discoloration under the eyes. Constant administering of the drops seems to leave some puffiness under the eyes. I have used several under eye treatments. Perhaps you can recommend best for my situation. Thank you Cheryl S
