Dear LovelySkin family,

Like so many, we are feeling immense grief, disbelief, and frustration over the death of George Floyd on May 25th in Minneapolis (and too many black men and women before George) and ongoing violence in our very own city.

The grim reality of these tragedies and the resulting protests is that they compel us to listen more closely to one another, to strive for deeper understanding, and to simply do more to break the cycle of injustice that creates and maintains injustices for so many. To the people of color in our LovelySkin family, patients of our practice and the greater community, I would like to say that while we cannot know how you are feeling during these times, please know that you matter and we are committed to helping you feel seen, protected, heard, and valued. We wholeheartedly reject violence, systemic racism and brutality in all its forms and LovelySkin and Skin Specialists will be making a donation to the Omaha Community Foundation/African American Unity Fund to support our local skin of color community. It pains us to see these divisive and unbearable acts, with unspeakable consequences.

The recent protests and unrest have also created additional security concerns for all of us in the Omaha/Lincoln area. I want to reassure you that in response, we have increased the security patrols on company property and will monitor developments to issue additional safety guidelines, if necessary. As you know, we closed the entire clinic and LS facility earlier yesterday in response to concerns and will always err on the side of caution. The safety and well-being of the LovelySkin and Skin Specialists families remains our highest priority, now and always.
