How it performs: Works well to reduce congestion and breakouts without the added surface exfoliation of an AHA. Salicylic acid’s lipid-soluble nature means it gets into the pore lining to break up excess sebum and keep blackheads from forming. Texture/Sensation: Classic gel or creamy gel. Gentle foam that rinses without tightness. Usually non-irritating at typical use frequencies. Best for: Oily/acne-prone skin or anyone who wants BHA pore clearing without strong surface exfoliation. Great as a regular daily cleanser or alternated with stronger acid blends. Minor downside: If your primary goal is visible surface renewal or evening texture/brightness, you might prefer a glycolic or dual-acid formula.

This glycolic acid cream is effective in optimizing the retinol I use on my face at night. There’s a little tingling when I apply the glycolic acid cream and that’s how I know it’s working-I like using the retinol first on clean skin, waiting a few minutes, then applying this cream, followed by a moisturizer a few minutes later, before going to bed. I believe the product is effectively contributing to my skin rejuvenation results, which I’m happy with!
