EltaMD intentionally overfills items with airless pumps in anticipation that a small amount may leak in transit, especially in hot weather and/or during air travel. They do this to ensure the entire amount of product is in the jar, even if a small amount leaks. For this reason, these items contain slightly more product than advertised before they ship to ensure the customer still receives the appropriate amount.
This product is packaged with an airless pump dispenser, which uses a vacuum system to dispense the product. Please see this product's directions for further information on airless pumps.
