This product claims to be hydrating; below are 2 descriptions of the 3rd ingredient in its ingredient list: Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate is a surfactant used in cosmetics, skincare, and hair care products. It's safe to use in rinse-off products, but shouldn't exceed 2% in leave-on formulations. It can make hair and skin dry, so it's not recommended for dry skin types. It can also cause acne on highly sensitive skin. Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate - Icky WHAT-IT-DOES: surfactant/cleansing A versatile and biodegradable cleansing agent with high cleaning power and strong foaming properties. Unfortunately, these two properties for a surfactant usually mean that it is harsh on the skin, which is the case here as well.
