Excellent for Perioral Deematitis
I started getting perioral dermatitis around my mouth, a skin irritation that looks like acne but is actually a disruption of the skin’s acid barrier. It wasn’t until I tried Avene Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream that I was able to clear it up! The cream is gentle and healing, and I’ve continued to use it as my daily moisturizer. If I use anything harsh on my face like an acid peel or tea tree oil, the Perioral Dermatitis will flare up again, so I generally avoid those things and always come back to my Avene cream to get my skin happy again. I definitely recommend it for sensitive skin issues of any kind!

Cicalfate Restorative Protective Cream
As with most Avene products, I do recommend Cicalfate. I'm currently using it on a skin cancer scar to see if it will help smooth out the scar. It also helps improve your skin's moisture barrier. It's a good cream to have around for things like this. It is a very thick, soothing cream.

Excellent for Skin Barrier
I purchased this to address a chronic skin issue I’ve been battling for months. It’s worked better than anything I tried previously including antibiotics! It’s thick which takes some getting used to, but it melts into the skin with no detectable residue or sticky feeling. I’m repurchasing since I don’t want to run out.

Avene Cicalfate is for me an essential item to recover from dermatology procedures. I first used it 20 years ago after a chemical peel., and I have used Avene products ever since. Now after a new dermatologist prescribed ointment for sun damage and keratosis, which left my face looking like a burn victim, and I knew I needed serious help. The Cicalfate has been of exceptional assistance, softening the healing process, and allowing appropriate peeling. It softens, relieves itching and burning, and disappears into the skin. Please know that the treatment was appropriate, and I'm grateful for a practitioner that didn't just tell me I had age spots. I'm very fair, and have been religious about protection, but sometimes that is not enough. I could not have gotten through this procedure without Cicalfate, and my practitioner now has this product on his list to recommend to other patients.

My salvation!
Avène Cicalfate (AC) was first recommended to me by my esthetician in NYC for use after facial chemical peels, laser procedures and injections. Although I can no longer afford to have these procedures done by her, I do perform various acid peels myself. AC immediately soothes and moisturizes my skin after any such peels or microneedling. It is a fantastic cream to use after any of these procedures. Highly recommend!

I use Ketoconazole, a prescription for Seborrheic Dermatitis at night. During the day Cicalfate works for me. Both creams have a white base. After rubbing it in the white vanishes. It feels good and is not irritating. Best wishes.

Fantastic! Note: Contains Zinc
This is a great moisturizer I use at night. It contains copper and zinc to calm skin, which I've found effective. The zinc leaves a white cast, which I'm totally fine with at night, but it complicated my morning routine -- not only because of the white cast, but the zinc didn't blend well with the sunscreen I use. Love using this restorative cream at night.
