Saved the day!
This product arrived right when I developed a reaction to a hidden exfoliant in another product. My skin immediately felt soothed and I used nothing else for several days until I felt the sensitivity had subsided. It may not be rich enough for winter but I’ll keep it around for those days when my skin barrier needs some extra support. Love that it is truly fragrance free.

Calming and hydrating
If you have sensitive hyperactive acne prone skin this is the perfect cream for you. It’s not heavy and absorbs well. I’ve only used it in the evening before bed and my skin is hydrated and redness has disappeared. Only wish the bottle was larger and the price was smaller.

Very nice soothing cream for skin sensitized from acne medications
I purchased this cream for my 21 year old daughter who was prescribed two different acne medications. Her skin became quite sensitive and red and any kind of moisturizer would sting and cause her face to become ever redder. When you can't tolerate anything else, this is the moisturizer to try. It's got a very simple ingredient list and it just gets the job done. I like the fact you can purchase it in the cream version and also the balm version which is for even drier skin. Recommend.

Truly Perfect
I was looking for the cleanest "conventional" product I could find, as nearly all less toxic, organic or clean moisturizers contain loads of oils which clog my pores and cause breakouts. I was shocked when I found that this cream from Avene scores only a 1 on the EWG website. I have fairly oily skin, so I only use it at night, but it has absolutely been everything I was looking for. Even though it's a small container, it has lasted much longer than I anticipated. I am so happy to have found this product. If you are prone to clogs but want a less toxic product, then this is it.

Best for sensitive skin
I normally have semi-sensitive, acne-prone skin but recently became very sensitive due to an adverse reaction to doxycycline + sun. I could no longer tolerate my usual cetaphil cream or gentle cleanser, which had never happened before. However this I was able to tolerate, and it didn't break me out. This plus the avene mist underneath actually felt good at a time when literally everything else burned, except for aveeno calm+restore cleanser. The avene face mist is a little "extra" for me for everyday use, but I'm going to keep this recovery cream in my regular skincare line-up now. It's the most gentle moisturizer I've found to-date.
