I was looking for a product that does not require cotton pads yet functional. Upon learning that people (reviewers) do not use cotton pads, I decided to give it a try. It works well and almost as functional as the balm type remover that erases my waterproof mascara with ease. This product takes a little extra effort which requires a little more massaging and rubbing. But, this has no oil which I like.
