Dermatologist Wessel recommend this sunscreen product to help with my rosacea. I have continued to use it over the years because it is water based and seems to fully protect my face from the sun. It is relatively expensive, and I do not know if there is a substitute product.

happy to have found a sunscreen that goes on with a smooth finish and dries without leaving a shiny or sticky residue so you can easily put it under your makeup. i tried the tinted version and it goes on very sheer so as to not deposit too much color on the face. if you are looking for a tinted sunscreen that provides more coverage (color wise), this might not be the one for you...but for me i love the feel of it on my face when i don't want to use foundation.

EltaMD UV Clear is my favorite sunscreen for summer. It is lightweight and the niacinamide is a wonderful skin care ingredient. My easily clogged pores stay clear all summer. Winter my skin needs more moisture.

Moist but not greasy and totally clear...this is a perfect facial sunscreen. Love it! Also, you should try the tinted one...I mix them to avoid an over made up look.

Best Sunscreen ever!
I have used this product for several years (and have also tried most every other big name SPF product), and it is the best physical block out there! I love knowing that I have the physical block protection yet do not have a white filmy look or heavy greasy feel. Also great for running outside on hot summer days!! Highly recommend!

Wonderful moisturizer and sun screen in one
I'm in my mid-60s and live in Utah. Moisturizers and sunscreens are very important out here. I use the EltaMD UV clear SPF 46 sunscreen untinted every day. It is my day time moisturizer and sunscreen. I don't use any other day time moisturizer, just this, and my skin has never dried out. I have never had any sunburns while using this product nor any skin breakouts. This is a high quality, simple solution to moisturizing and sunscreen.

Advised to use by my Cancer Prevention Center in Houston Texas at M D Anderson. It is great! Goes on smoothly, doesn't clump, can't be felt and does and excellent job. I only wish it was with the old pump system. The newer pump does not empty the canister well. I hope go back.

I have had trouble finding a suncreen/moisturizer that I like to wear under makeup. I have found, with this product, I don't need a foundation whatsoever. However, if your skin needs foundation, this product is perfect to wear under it as well. It's truly wonderful. It smells great, feels fresh when you apply it, stays on and is perfect as a base for my blush, powder, etc. Blends well with my under eye concealer as well. I would highly recommend!

I have suffered with acne since I was a teenager, and, along with adult acne, I was "lucky" enough to develop melasma as well. I've had laser treatment to help with my melasma, but was told I would have to wear sunscreen daily ... Really?! The only thing I knew sunscreen would do is cause more and more acne breakouts! Exactly What I wanted!
It is not the first time that I have purchased this sunscreen, my dermatologist initially suggested it to me and I have been using it ever since. I like that it is clear, no whitish or sun tint to it: when I run out to go to the gym I do not want to use a towel to wipe sweat from my face and leave a beige stain all over it ... Or if I am wearing something light with a collar: I do not want to have markings all over my clothing either! So EltaMD Clear does the trick for me.
