Not what I was hoping
I tried this product because I'm trying to move away from using cheap lip balms, and I liked that it has an SPF of 40. Unfortunately, it goes on too dry feeling which causes me to reapply much more often and my lips still don't feel hydrated. I will not be buying it again. For $25 I have to love it.

Best lip SPF
I bought this for summer as I needed a SPF for my lips. I love EltaMD and thought I would try this. I really like this and it now will be a staple in my sunscreen routine. It’s not drying and doesn’t go on white like a lot of SPF do.

Things I like about this balm: goes on smooth; improves the appearance of lips by smoothing texture of skin; doesn't leave a terrible white case (slight case with multiple layers); no significant flavor/scent; the applicator feels nice and substantial in your hand and is easy to find in a bag; it's mineral based SPF. Things I think could be better about this balm: doesn't feel particularly moisturizing or plumping (I feel like I am reapplying this every 30 minutes because my lips feel dry and shriveled again); because of the reapplication I'm going through this product faster than I'd like; feels slightly pricey for what it is. I may repurchase if I can't find another mineral based SPF lip balm but for what it lacks and the price, I won't be in a rush to do so.

Not the best
This solid balm is a nice option for higher lip SPF but for the price you get very little product. It has a slight white color if you swipe it a few times. I also don't find it very hydrating. I wouldn't repurchase.

Mineral, Lasts without drying, doesn’t taste awful
This is a keeper. It doesn’t taste chemically or artificially sweetened. It stays on fairly well. And it doesn’t dry out my lips. I would use it on my face in a pinch.

Excellent sun protection for lips!
LOVE this new Elta MD with SPF 40! I wish they made it in colors!! This does not taste bad at all! In fact it has NO taste with the exception of a very slight hint of mint, which I love. There aren’t too many lip products with sunscreen that doesn’t taste awful. I knew this would be good and ordered it immediately because after all, it is Elta MD! Also it does not dry out my lips or leave any white cast. I alloy lipstick on top of it a few minutes later.
