I don't get it

I love trying different masks and the ritual of mixing this one didn't phase me. But, even though I got the mousse consistency, the mask never turned rubbery and I could not peel it off my face. Instead, it turned to a clay-like consistency which was a little difficult to get off. I submitted a question to LovelySkin about what I might be doing wrong and they said the mask would still work the way I was doing it. Well, I just don't think it did anything special.
