Heliocare is a great internal sun screen protector
A few years ago, I had some melanoma removed from my back. My dermatologist always reminds me to use a sunscreen. Being that I farm, many sunscreens leave an oily residue which is quick to pick up dust. Heliocare was recommended by my dermatologist as an internal substitute. I have not burned since using it. I take one tablet everyday throughout the year and a second one if I'm going to be outside for extended periods. Excellent product! It works for me.

Highly recommended by my dermatologist
I've always been very careful about sun exposure, and now there is another tool to help combat its effects. My dermatologist is super conservative about any treatments or medications, so his suggestion that I take Heliocare surprised me. Hopefully, there are long-term benefits to using this in addition to sunscreen and avoiding exposure when possible.

Trustworthy antioxidant to combat those UV Free Radicals
The FDA has been coming down on products that tout themselves as oral sunscreen. This is but one of the variables people should consider along with there regular regime of SPF! This is an oral boost to your system that provides an antioxidant that will help with sun exposure. I was apprehensive about the product as my tummy is sensitive but have had no problems. Coupled with SPF products, my fair skin is doing well and seems to be less capable of burning and recovers quickly from exposure.

Melasma

Boost of protection!
This gives me just that extra bit of confidence as I head out into the sun this spring and summer. As a mother of two small children, I spend a lot of time outdoors when the weather gets nice. Of course, this is just an adjunct to my SPF50 sunscreen, but I don't always get the opportunity to reapply as necessary, so this is that boost I need to feel good about protecting my skin. I have been using this product daily for many years now. It is recommended by dermatologists as an internal sunblock. I have fair skin and would like it to remain that way. I take one a day and when I have to be out in the sun I take a second one. I still use sunblock but have been on many Caribbean vacations and come back without tan lines. Added protection
Being very fair, the added protection is nice. When I was younger I spent many days in the sun, never wearing a hat. This produced a date with my dermatologist at least every 6 months. Having the added protection of Heliocare, along with other sun protection, has reduced that to a yearly visit, just to make sure there are no new areas of concern. Buying Heliocare 3 bottles at a time makes it easy, I never run out.

Effective and Recommended by my Dermatologist
It is hard to say exactly how effective this is as I would need to try going without it to see the difference. However, when I know I will be in the sun, I take it that morning. I am very fair skinned, so I want to limit sun damage whenever I can. Both my young adult children also take it any day they are at the beach, skiing, etc. The recommendation is to take it daily, but I primarily take it as needed.

Great addition to my sunblock regime!
I've been using Heliocare for years on the recommendation of my dermatologist. I'm fair skinned and live in Colorado, therefore spending a lot of time outside. I used to just take Heliocare when I was going for a hike or a day on the river. After a pre-cancer scare last year, it is now a part of my daily routine. You still need to use sunblock but Heliocare just enhances its effect. There is no after taste and it doesn't upset your stomach. I highly recommend it to anyone!
