Stripped Facial Skin
I bought this because I had tried a sample of the regular Obagi (pink) gel cleanser. This supposedly gentle version (pale yellow) was even more drying and stripping than the regular gel by Obagi. Weird but I couldn't use it after two tries.

Nice cleanser
Overall, this is a nice cleanser. I like both the scent and the texture, and it leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed. However, I find that I need to double cleanse to completely remove all of my makeup. My biggest complaint is the packaging. I don't like that I can't see how much product is left in the bottle, and having to unscrew the cap every time I use it is inconvenient. There are other cleansers on the market that are much more user-friendly in terms of design. I might consider purchasing it again if the packaging is improved. I removed one star because of the design, not the product itself.

I don’t care for the smell, but to my surprise, it did not cause a reaction in my very sensitive skin. It’s a good, gentle cleanser, nothing fancy. I normally use another cleanser, but it's been out of stock for months now, so this is what I substituted with.

I’ve tried several different gentle facial cleansers over the years, but I always come back to this one. I’ve found that other cleansers, after daily use for several months, either leave my skin feeling dry or too oily. I previously used Obagi’s Nu-Derm Foaming Gel, as well, which I liked, but the Gentle Gel Cleanser #1 takes the cake, always leaving my skin feeling clean, refreshed, and hydrated.

Great gentle cleanser
I’ve been using this cleanser as part of the Obagi Nu-Derm system. I have sensitive skin and this gentle cleanser does a great job cleaning my face in the morning, but not stripping it so it feels dry or tight. I use it along with a pre-cleanse at night and it does a great job removing everything from my skin. I will continue to use this cleanser.
